Beulah E. Curtis Obituary (1912 - 2008)

BEULAH E. CURTIS Beulah E. Curtis, age 96, of Menomonie, WI passed away Monday, August 11, 2008, at the American Lutheran Home in Menomonie. Beulah Ellen Hathaway was born July 18, 1912 to Samuel and Laura (Freestone) Hathaway. She was born at home on the Hathaway family farm at Fall City, town of Spring Brook, Dunn County. Beulah graduated with honors from the Fall City School and attended Menomonie High School. She married Harry O. Curtis on April 5, 1930 in Stillwater, MN. To this union, three children were born. Beulah worked for U.S. Rubber in Eau Claire during W.W. II. Later, she was a caregiver for her mother from 1942 through 1958. Then in the fall of 1958, she was appointed to the Office of Treasurer for the Town of Spring Brook, a position she was re-elected to until 1975. In 1959, she was employed at the "Fair Store", then Bostwicks, in Menomonie as clerk and seamstress, until she retired in 1975. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday August 15, 2008 at Little Elk Creek Lutheran Church in Twp. of Red Cedar with Pastor Steve Carlson officiating. Visitation will be held at Olson Funeral Home on Thursday, August 14th from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. and at the church one hr prior to service on Friday. Burial will be in Fall City Cemetery, Town of Spring Brook.
