Betty J. Klink Obituary (1935 - 2006)

BETTY J. KLINK Betty J. Klink, age 70, of Colfax, WI passed away Sunday, December 10, 2006 at home, surrounded by her family and hospice, after a courageous battle with Pancreatic Cancer. The former Betty Jane Patzner was born Dec. 15, 1935 in the Town of Buffalo, Buffalo Co., WI to Joseph and Frances (Tomsen) Patzner. She was baptized on Jan. 12th, 1936 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Pine Creek. Betty attended St. Aloysius Elementary School and graduated from Arcadia High School in 1953. During high school she was active in F.H.A., S.S.C., she was class president and on the homecoming and prom committees. She also worked on the school annual and newspaper. Betty graduated from Buffalo County Normal School in 1955 where she was in chorus and the Operetta Club and was class secretary and the school annual editor. Following graduation, Betty taught in elementary schools in Mondovi, Naples and Bloomington, MN. She married Allen Klink on Aug. 9, 1958 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Arcadia. She then taught at Fairchild and Fall Creek and was a teacher's assistant at Fennimore. In 1965, Betty and her husband moved to Menomonie where they raised their family and Betty taught remedial reading. She later worked at U.W. Stout and C.E.S.A was a real estate broker for Century 21. Betty was an active member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Menomonie. She was a Eucharist minister and former secretary of the P.C.C.W. Betty loved to travel and took many camping trips in the U.S. and later several trips to Europe. She was very creative and enjoyed art and decorating. Betty also loved the holidays, cooking, gardening, fishing and golfing and especially being with family. She was a loving mother and grandmother and will be sadly missed by her family and friends. Betty is survived by: Her loving husband, Allen 2 sons and 2 daughters, Robert Klink of Menomonie Roxanne Klink Oliver of Menomonie Ronald Klink (Lynn Boppel) of Eau Claire Kathy (Dennis) Aspen of Knapp 4 grandchildren Ryan Oliver of Menomonie Morganne Boppel of Eau Claire Samantha and Zachary Aspen of Knapp 2 sisters and 1 brother, Donna (Ralph) Soppa of Arcadia Jean (Russell) Schmitt of Mondovi Joseph "Sonny" (Marian) Patzner of Eleva And is also survived by other relatives and friends She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister Maureen Bork. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, Dec. 13. 2006, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Menomonie, with Father Tom Krieg officiating. Family and friends are welcome from 4:00 to 8:00 PM Tuesday at Olson Funeral Home in Menomonie where there will be Rosary Service at 4:30 PM and a Prayer Service at 7:00 PM. There will also be visitation at the church one hour prior to the service on Wednesday. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Parish Cemetery, with a reception following at St. Joseph's Catholic Church.
