Annamae M. Goetzinger Obituary (1931 - 2010)

ANNAMAE "MAE" M. GOETZINGER Annamae "Mae" M. Goetzinger, age 79, of Wheeler, WI died, Monday, June 28, 2010 at The Red Cedar Medical Center, in Menomonie, WI. She was born May 21, 1931 in rural Kingston, Green Lake County, WI. to Ralph J. and Doris (Loveland) Hattery. She graduated from Colfax High School in 1950 and went on to get her Registered Nursing Degree from The Cook County School Of Nursing in Chicago, IL graduating in 1954. She married Gerald Goetzinger on August 14, 1954 at the Church Parsonage in Colfax, WI. The family moved to Racine, WI. where Mae held a registered nurse position at St. Mary's Hospital in Racine for many years and pioneered the Cardiac Care Unit at St. Mary's. In 1988, she and Gerald moved to Wheeler where they have lived since. Mae had planned on going to work in Menomonie, but an accidental hip fracture made her retire from nursing. She loved to knit and crochet and kept in touch with her medical profession by making Newborn Baby Caps for the newcomers into this world. Mae was also very active in her church, Our Saviors Lutheran Church of Wheeler. Annamae had been active in The Baxterville Homemakers and enjoyed making crafts, quilting, sewing and embroidering. She is survived by her husband, Gerald of Wheeler; 3 children, Keith (Nora) of Lubbock, TX, Betty Nicholson of Zion, IL. And Diane (Tim) Olmstead of Racine, WI; 5 grandchildren, Jennifer Vargus, Joseph Goetzinger, Nick Nicholson, Timothy Olmstead II and Crystal Olmstead; 6 great-grandchildren; 8 siblings, Clara Walde, Josephine Davies, Leona (Archie) Thorson, Ralph (Carol) Hattery, Carol (Ted) Erickson, Wallace Hattery, Beatrice (Ruben) Landner and Christine (Douglas) Dummer; many, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by her son, Bruce (2008); and 1 brother, Harry Jack Hattery. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, July 2, 2010 at 1:00 P.M. at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Wheeler, WI with Pastor Burke officiating. Friends may call from 4-7 P.M. on Thursday, July 1, 2010 at Olson Funeral Home of Menomonie and also 1 hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will take place on Tuesday, July 6, 2010 at 2:00 P.M. at West Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Racine, WI. Friends may call at the Cemetery Chapel from 1:30 p.m. until 2:00 P.M.
