Alva O. Stevens Obituary (1912 - 2007)

ALVA O. STEVENS Alva O. Stevens, age 95, formerly of Wheeler and Menomonie, WI died Sunday, July 1, 2007 at Oakwood Villa in Altoona, Wisconsin. The former Alva O. Follensbee was born June 27, 1912. She married Clifford Stevens on May 7, 1929 at the Lutheran Parsonage in Stillwater, MN. Alva worked at Sanna Dairies and retired from the University of WI - Stout as Secretary to the Dean of Women. She and her husband Clifford farmed north of Wheeler for many years and later moved to Menomonie, WI. Alva is survived by: Three sons Benny (Esther) Stevens of Rio Rancho, NM Dr. Dwight Stevens of Stevens Point, WI Collin (Carroll) Stevens of Jefferson, WI Two daughters, Beverly (Ralph) Rogers of Georgetown, TX Jan (Connie) Chumas of Eau Claire, WI 25 grandchildren 40 great-grandchildren 2 great-great-grandchildren Two sisters-in-law, Edna McWithey of Ridgeland, WI Calla Stevens of Wheeler, WI She was preceded in death by her husband Clifford, one son and one grandson. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, July 6, 2007 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Wheeler, WI with Pastor Diane Norstad officiating. Burial will be in Hay River Lutheran Cemetery. Family and friends are welcome from 4:00 to 8:00 PM Thursday at Olson Funeral Home in Menomonie and at the church one hour prior to the service on Friday.
