Alton "Dick" Larson Obituary (1935 - 2012)

Alton R. "Dick" Larson, 76, of Menomonie, WI died Sunday, May 13, 2012 at Good Samaritan Health Systems in Kearney, Nebraska. Dick was born May 18, 1935 in Star Prairie, Wisconsin, the son of Alvin R. and Stella E. (Cole) Larson. He graduated from New Richmond High School with the class of 1953. Dick married Sharon L. Dahl on May 2, 1954. He worked at Taystee Bread for 25 years. Dick was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Menomonie, Wisconsin. His hobby was people; he never met a stranger and always enjoyed chatting with friends. Dick is survived by his wife of 58 years, Sharon; four loving children and their spouses; nine grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and a host of friends. He is preceded in death by his parents; three brothers; and one sister. Private family services were held at DeWitt Funeral Home in Hastings, NE. Memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, July 1, 2012 at Christ Lutheran Church in Menomonie with Pastor Geoff Scott officiating. Visitation will be at the church one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Christ Lutheran Halvorson Cemetery in Menomonie. Olson Funeral Home of Menomonie is serving the family.
