Alpha M. Lierman Obituary (1923 - 2010)

Alpha M. Lierman, age 86, of Altoona, WI and longtime resident of Menomonie, WI; died, Friday, April 23, 2010 at Country Terrace Assisted Living in Altoona, WI. She was born August 23, 1923 in Sherman Township, Dunn County, WI to Rev. Peter and Anna (Bille) Blicher. She attended Dunn County Aggie High School and in 1941 married Milton Lierman. Alpha worked for many years at Jone's Pharmacy in Menomonie and also at the Dunn County Healthcare Center in Menomonie. Alpha was a very active person over the years and had many hobbies and things she enjoyed doing. She loved to dance, sing, play cards and bingo (she enjoyed her "casino runs") doing puzzles, gardening and canning the harvest from her garden; but the best thing in her life, was spending time with her family and friends. Her family was her testament to a wonderful life and her smile and laughter were iinfectious. She is survived by 2 sons, Vaughn (Lucy) of Fall Creek and their children, Randy (JoAnn) LIerman, Kevin (Sandra) Lierman & Bryn (Sheila) Lierman; Richard (Rayola) of Durand and their children, Mark (Leigh) Lierman, Ken (Jasqi) Lierman, Renee' (Jim) Hurlburt & Michelle Lierman; 1 daughter, Joanne (Dave) Knaack of Eau Claire and their chlldren, Dennis (Lynn) Knaack, Denise (Steve) Tape, Brad (Lorie) Knaack and Chad (Keri) Knaack; great grandchildren, Jeff, Alicia, Eric, Jason, Andrew & Cheyenne Lierman and Shay, Lance, Ellie, Morgan & Alex Lierman and Jordan, Jacob & Nathan Hurlburt and Jennica Knaack, Courtney Schoenberger, Sydney Tape, August, Aza, Logan & Addison Knaack; great great grandchildren, Allyson and 1 on the way (Aaron); many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by her parents; husband, Milton (1972); j1 daughter, Marilyn (1957); 1 grandson, Brett Hurlburt; 4 brothers and 3 sisters. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Tuesday, April 27, 2010 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Menomonie, WI with Rev. Brett Voight officiating. Friends may call at the church from 11:00 A.M. until time of service. Burial will take place at St. Paul's Cemetery in Menomonie, WI. God looked aroung his garden, and found an empty place. He then looked down upon the earth and saw your tired face. He put his arms around you and lifted you to rest.God's garden must be beautiful He always takes the best. He saw the road was getting rough and the hills were hard to climb, So he closed your weary eyelids and whispered, "Peace be thine."
