Allene H. Mickelson Obituary (1926 - 2006)

ALLENE H. MICKELSON Allene H. Mickelson, age 80, of Menomonie, WI died Monday July 24, 2006 at the Dunn County Health Care Center in Menomonie. The former Allene Hope Scheidecker was born March 4, 1926 in rural Colfax, Dunn Co., WI to Carl R. and Alvilda C. (Erickson) Scheidecker. She was baptized and confirmed at Colfax Lutheran Church and graduated from Colfax High School. After high school, Allene held various jobs, including jobs at Presto, Sanna Dairies and the Lange Canning Company. She married Stanley Mickelson on Nov. 2, 1945 in Prairie Farm, WI. Allene and Stanley celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary this past year. Allene was a member of Peace Lutheran Church in Menomonie for over 50 years. She loved art, especially painting and she also enjoyed quilting, flower gardening and collecting family photographs. Allene is survived by: Her two children, Ronald (Sally) Mickelson of Menomonie Belinda Jo (Steven) Lane of Talent, OR Three grandchildren, Melissa (Gene) Gerry of Winona, MN Brennen (Tina) Mickelson of Mishicot,WI Kimberli McLean of Santa Maria, CA Six great-grandchildren, Danielle and Megan Gerry, Ashley and Blaine Mickelson, and Erica and Peter McLean Three brothers, Richard (Shirley) Scheidecker of Eau Claire Roland (Arlene) Scheidecker of Elk Mound Robert (Cindy) Scheidecker of Sand Creek Four sisters-in-law, Ethel Losness of Menomonie, Thelma Kittel of Amery, Jeanette Mickelson of Eau Claire and Madeline Mickelson of Amery Many nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband Stanley, this past March. Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, August 1, 2006 at Peace Lutheran Church in Menomonie, with Rev. David Whelan officiating. Burial will be in Peace Lutheran Church Cemetery. Family and friends are welcome from 4:00 to 8:00 PM Monday at Olson Funeral Home in Menomonie and at the church one hour prior to the service on Tuesday.
