Alleen I. Gibson Obituary (1921 - 2008)

ALLEEN I. GIBSON Alleen I. Gibson, age 87, of Menomonie, WI died Friday, Oct. 3, 2008 at Red Cedar Medical Center in Menomonie. The former Alleen Irene Mason was born March 8, 1921 in Marinette County, WI to Fred and Millie (Inbody) Mason. She married Wendall Gibson on Nov. 6, 1939 in Stockbridge, WI. After their marriage, they moved to a farm near Knapp, WI and later to Cedar Falls. Alleen worked at Lakeside Aluminum Plant until they closed and then at Sanna Dairies in Menomonie. After her husband's death in 1965, Alleen moved to California and worked at Bell Helmets and Federal Mogul until retiring in 1986. She then returned to Menomonie. Alleen was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Menomonie and taught adult Sunday School. She enjoyed helping at the church and with meals at the Hosford Rich Apartments. She also enjoyed visiting with friends, meeting people and going for drives in her car. Alleen's pride and joy was her grandson Brian, who she loved very much. Alleen is survived by: Her son, Gerald (Minda) Gibson of Menomonie A grandson, Brian Gibson of Menomonie A sister, Evadna (John) White of Indianapolis, IN And other relatives and friends She was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers and sisters, Marion Mason, Alvin Mason, Dwight Mason, Gerneth Farmer and Ruby Parks. A memorial service will be held at later date. Olson Funeral Home and Cremation Service is assisting the family.
