Alice L. Degneau Obituary (1923 - 2008)

ALICE L. DEGNEAU Alice L. Degneau, age 84, of Menomonie, WI died Saturday, April 12, 2008 at the American Lutheran Home in Menomonie. The former Alice Lorraine Nasset was born August 22, 1923 in the Town of Washington, Eau Claire Co., WI, to Paul and Marie (Benson) Nasset. She graduated from Altoona High School. Alice married Vernon Degneau on June 16, 1945 in Eau Claire. They moved to St. Paul, MN where they lived for 35 years. Upon Vernon's retirement in 1983, they moved to the Webster, WI area. In 1993, they moved to Menomonie where they have lived since. Alice worked as a waitress for many years. She enjoyed making birthday cakes for family and friends and was the apple pie queen. She enjoyed reading, crocheting and watching the hummingbirds. She loved people and will be sadly missed by her family and friends. Alice is survived by: Her husband of 63 years, Vernon Her children, Duane (Norma) of Harrodsburg, KY Richard (Connie) of Marshfield, WI Diane (Bruce) Skrukrud of Plymouth, MN Grandchildren, Scott (Lisa), Paul (Stephanie), Phil (Caryn), Ryan (Gina), Josh (Meghan) and Andrea Great-grandchildren, Carley, Jacob, Austin and Mason Her sisters, Betty (Gary) Anderson of Eau Claire Mary Ruscin-Hill of Florida Bev Halvorson of Eau Claire A sister-in-law, Irene Williams of New Richmond Also survived by nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Marie Nasset, and sisters, Marvel Siegal and Hazel Frase. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, April 19, 2008 at Christ Lutheran Church in Menomonie, with Pastor Geoff Scott officiating. Burial will be held at New Haven Cemetery in the Town of New Haven, Dunn Co., WI at a later date. Family and friends are welcome from 4:00 to 8:00 PM Friday at Olson Funeral Home in Menomonie and at the church one hour prior to the service on Saturday.
