Albert J. Tschudy Obituary (1923 - 2006)

ALBERT JOHN TSCHUDY Albert John Tschudy died on July 16th, 2006 at the Red Cedar Medical Center in Menomonie, Wisconsin after a brief illness. He was surrounded by his loving family at the time of his death. Albert John Tschudy was born on July 14, 1923 in Monroe, Wisconsin to Albert Tschudy and Marion Salter Tschudy. He was the oldest of three sons born to the family. His father died when he was six years old and so the boys were raised by their mother with the support of loving family. He graduated from Monroe High School in 1942. He started school the University of Wisconsin-Madison that fall, but enrolled in the Air Force on December 9, 1942. He was a bombardier in the mighty Eighth Air Force. He seldom spoke of his war experience, but several comrades on his plane tell how he saved their lives. After leaving service he went to the University of Wisconsin-River Falls where he graduated from their Agriculture Program. He later went on to get his Masters from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He was awarded a professorship from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Through the years he has been employed as a teacher and by the state of Wisconsin's University Extension as a 4-H club agent, a county agent, a resource development agent, and a small business resource development agent. He was a very dedicated worker who individuals enjoyed working with because of his honest approach. On May 21, 1950 he married Christine Thompson in Hayward, Wisconsin. They had five children together. He enjoyed his children and took great delight in his grandchildren. Through the years he was an active member of many organizations: Rotary; the Masonic Lodge; the Scottish Rite Chapter, Valley of Eau Claire, the Zor Shrine; the Hayward Musky Shrine; AARP; Round Lake Property Owners Association; the Hayward Civic Club; the University of Wisconsin Alumni Assn; the American Legion; the NREA and church boards. Outside of work, he enjoyed snowmobiling, hunting, fishing, socializing with friends and his family, golfing, traveling and a good game of cards. He was a devoted husband and a loving father and grandfather. He enjoyed his family and is remembered by family and friends for his warm entertaining ways. He leaves behind his wife, Christine Tschudy of Hayward, WI Daughter, Margaret (Kenneth) Stauss of Menomonie, WI Son, Kenneth (Melanie) Tschudy of Junction City, WI Son, Ted (Sheryl) Tschudy of New Richmond, WI Daughter, Marilyn Dehnert of Colfax, WI Daughter, Janet (Steve) Sisul of Viroqua and LaCrosse, WI Grandchildren: Lindsay Dehnert, Bryan Tschudy, Kari Stauss, Megan Stauss, Mathew Tschudy, Jessica Sisul, and Nicole Sisul. Brother, Jim (Claire) Tschudy of Loudon, TN Sisters-in-law, Jeanne King of Minneapolis, MN; Marjorie Sanzi of Bradenton, FL and Carla Tschudy of Broomfield, CO. Nieces and nephews and cousins. Deceased members of his family are his parents, Albert and Marion Tschudy; his brother, Robert Tschudy; his brothers-in-law, Paul King and George Sanzi; sister-in-law, Mary Tschudy and son-in-law, Carl Dehnert. A Celebration of his life will be on Saturday, July 22nd at the Grace Lutheran Church in Hayward, WI. Visitation will be at 10:00 a.m. with the service following at 11:00 a.m..
