Agnes A. Ziehl Obituary (1917 - 2008)

AGNES A. ZIEHL Agnes Alberta Ziehl, age 90, passed away at her home in Glenwood City on Sunday, April 6, 2008. Agnes was born August 22, 1917, the daughter of Christian and Christine Henriksen. She married Clarence Ziehl on June 7, 1937. Agnes and Clarence farmed in Dunn County until they retired. Agnes was a very loving and caring person. She loved her family with all her heart. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were a great joy to her. Agnes loved to fish and had a real passion for bingo and peny slot machines. She will always be remembered for greeting everyone who came to see her with an open heart and a smile along with a good cup of coffee and something delicious that she had baked. Agnes is survived by: One son, Allan (Kelly) Ziehl of Menomonie, Two daughters, Sharon (John) Phillips of Holcombe, Tammy (Greg) Varney of Glenwood City Eight grandchildren: Matthew, Rebecca, Heather, Michael, Staniel, Jenessa, Cody, and Chelsy, Eight great-grandchildren, And also numerous nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents Christian and Christine; one daughter, Karen, who passed in 1964; her husband Clarence who passed in 1980; three brothers, Hans, Carl, and Yoken; five sisters, Lorene, Anne, Lily, Emma, and Laura. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, April 10, 2008 at Olson Funeral Home in Menomonie, with Pastor Steve Carlson officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Valley Cemetery in Dunn County. A visitation will be held on Wednesday from 4:00 until 7:00 PM at the funeral home, and one hour prior to the service on Thursday at the funeral home.
