Agnes Nelson Obituary (1908 - 2006)

AGNES I. NELSON Agnes Ila Nelson, age 97, of Knapp, WI died Saturday, Feb. 11, 2006 at Luther Hospital in Eau Claire. The former Agnes Ila Ford was born November 2, 1908 in the Town of Stanton, Dunn Co., WI to Isaac and Blanch (Rice) Ford. She attended school in Knapp, WI. On January 24, 1925 Agnes married Lawrence T. Nelson and they made their home in Knapp. During W.W.II Agnes worked at a defense plant in New Richmond, WI. She also worked at Sanna Dairies from 1951 to 1970 when she retired to spend time with her husband. Agnes attended the Gospel Mission Baptist Church in Knapp. She enjoyed farming, gardening, her flowers and cooking for her family. She also enjoyed bowling and playing 500 with close friends and relatives. Agnes is survived by: Her son, Darrel (Phyllis) Nelson of Knapp 3 grandchildren, Kathy (Jeffrey) Stanton of Menomonie Julie (Robert) Lee of Menomonie Danny (Deborah) Nelson of Knapp 10 great-grandchildren, Adam, Lucas and Cody Stanton Jordan (Brenda), Trenton and Afton Lee Nathan, Matthew, Christina and Danielle Nelson A great-great-granddaughter, Cadence Lee A brother, Hartzel Ford of Eau Claire 2 sisters both of Menomonie, Darlene Hintzman Ardis (Oscar) Dunahee 2 sisters-in-law, Marion Ford of Menomonie Doris Ford of Knapp She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, neighbors and friends. Agnes was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lawrence; one sister, Goldie Nelson; and six brothers, Everett, Virgil, Arnold, Eldon, Avery and Clarence Ford. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, Feb. 16, 2006 at Olson Funeral Home in Menomonie, with Rev. LeRoy Nelson officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery in the Town of Stanton, Dunn Co., WI. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Wednesday and one hour prior to the service on Thursday.
